Fabric Bundles and Fabric Lengths
Are fat quarters the same as 1/4 metre cuts?
No, fat quarters are different to 1/4 metre cuts. A 1/4 metre piece is a 25cm x WOF (width of fabric - usually 110cm for quilting cottons) cut, whereas a fat quarter is a 1/4 segment of a metre of fabric. To cut a fat quarter, we first make a half metre cut, then cut that piece in half. Our fat quarters typically measure 50cm (along the selvedge) x 55cm.
Can I order continuous cuts?
Of course! Most of our fabric lengths are sold per 1/2 metre and any quantities ordered greater than 1 are cut as one continuous cut. If you require a metre, the quantity you will enter is 2; if you require 2 metres, the quantity you will enter is 4 and so on.
Can I make a custom bundle?
Yes please! We LOVE playing with different fabrics and colours to create beautiful bundles. If you see something that you sort of like but would like to update it a bit to suit you better, please let us know and we will be more than happy to help.
Do you offer swatches?
If you live in Australia, we are happy to send you a scrap of fabric free of charge through regular mail. Unfortunately we cannot offer this service if you live outside of Australia due to high postage costs.
Are the colours in the stock images and listing photos true to life?
We do our very best to ensure that you know what you are receiving! We do use stock images by default, however if we believe that the stock image does not reflect the true colour of the fabric, we will take our own picture to more accurately represent the actual colour of the fabric and include this in the listing photos.
Please note that different screens and electronic devices may show colours differently and we therefore cannot guarantee a perfect match.
Finished Quilts
Do you offer custom quilts?
Yes! We would be absolutely delighted to make a custom quilt for you. Please have a read through our Custom Quilt information page to get started!
Can you recreate a quilt that has already been sold?
We will certainly do our best! A lot of the fabrics in the quilts that we sell are from our personal stash, which has grown over a number of years. Some of these fabrics may no longer be available to purchase, or may be a rare find and/or only available to purchase from outside of Australia. This may increase the overall cost compared to the original quilt that you may have seen.
If any fabrics are no longer available or are unattainable, we will work with you to find suitable alternatives to recreate the quilt as best as possible.
Payments
What payments do you accept?
We accept payments through PayPal, as well as Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. We also offer Afterpay but do not have any lay-by options. Please get in touch with us if yo would like to discuss this.
All prices are set in Australian dollars (AUD). If you are purchasing in a different currency, you can view the estimated prices in your currency using the currency selector at the bottom of the page. When purchasing in a different currency, your payment provider will automatically convert to your currency and we do not need to do anything manually. The Stitch Saloon is not responsible for any exchange rate differences.
Is GST (goods and services tax) charged on my order?
Yes, GST is collected on Australian orders.
Will I be charged duty or customs taxes?
If you are purchasing from outside Australia, you may be charged a customs, duty or tax fee. Any customs, duties or taxes are the responsibility of the customer. We cannot control whether a package gets delayed and/or charged duties and taxes by the customs office in any international country. All prices are set in Australian dollars (AUD).
Shipping
How much does shipping cost?

When will I receive my order?
We do a little happy dance for every order that we receive and are always excited to get cutting and packing straight away! We will typically have your order in the mail to you by the end of the next business day, however the shipping time may be up to 3 business days.
Domestic shipping to Australia generally takes up to 7 days to arrive and international shipping generally takes 3-4 weeks, however it may be longer.
You will receive an order confirmation email when you place your order and a shipping confirmation email when we have shipped your order. This will include a tracking number that you can track through Australia Post.

I live in Adelaide, can I pick up my order or have it delivered?
Our shop is based in Magill, in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide. We are more than happy to offer contactless pickup from our shop. You will see this as a shipping option upon checkout.
If pickup during shop hours does not suit you, please contact us to arrange collection from an alternative spot, still very close to the shop.
Our shop is located at 567 Magill Road, Magill SA 5072.
We are also happy to offer free delivery if you live within 5km of our studio in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide. If you are eligible, you will see this as a shipping option upon checkout after you have entered your address.
We will usually require one business day to prepare your order for either pick up or delivery. You will receive a notification from us when the order is ready.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Can I combine shipping on multiple orders?
We will do our best to combine shipping if we see that you have placed multiple orders, and will refund any shipping overages greater than $1 to you. This is provided that we have not already mailed off any orders. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible if there is something that you wish to add to your order after it has been placed so we can help you.
