Quilt Binding Services
Let's be honest - you either love binding your quilt, or you really don't! Whether you don't love the process or it's just not practical for you to do it yourself, it's one of our favourite parts of the quilting process and we are more than happy to help you finish your beautiful quilt!
We offer several levels of binding services ranging from preparation of your binding strips to sewing on your binding from start to finish.

Binding Preparation
Cutting, joining and pressing your binding strips, ready to sew onto your quilt. Unless agreed otherwise, strips will be cut along the straight grain (not the bias) and joined with a diagonal seam to reduce bulk. The strips will then be folded in half lengthwise once and pressed.

Note: these prices do not include the cost of any fabric. Your binding fabric will need to be supplied by you or purchased separately.
Binding Attachment - 1 side
We can attach your binding to one side of your quilt by machine so that it is ready for you to finish on the other side using your preferred method.
You can either supply your binding already joined and folded or we can prepare your binding for you for an additional cost - please see above.
Our binding service to attach to one side is priced at $1.95 per linear yard. Please see the table below for an estimated cost based on quilt size - exact cost will be confirmed upon enquiry.

Binding Attachment - both sides
Binding your quilt from start to finish - attaching to both sides. Our preferred and the most economical method is to attach both sides to the quilt by machine (no hand sewing). We would first attach the raw edges of the binding strips to the back of the quilt and fold the binding over to the front side, and stitch the binding down by machine.
Please note our lovely neat stitching will be visible on the finished binding. We are happy to source thread to match your binding for a small additional cost or we can use our standard off-white thread colour. You can also supply your own thread if preferred. An example of our binding technique is shown below.
